Topps dropped some fairly disturbing news today with the release of this week’s Galactic Moments Insert. Unlike past inserts, this card will not be available in the Mace Windu or Asajj Ventress base packs! This is sure to tick off some collectors, who have made a habit of relying on these lower level packs to score their inserts!
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t spend some day’s blowing all my free credits on 25 Mace Windu packs. With pretty weak looking odds based on it’s description in the Cantina, the Mace Windu pack is nevertheless an occasional gold mine for those hard to find inserts! On my first day using the app, I pulled 2 Vintage cards between 5 Mace Windu packs! Although I didn’t react nearly as enthusiastically as I would now
Now, in what seems to be a clear move to pressure us into buying more credits, we are left wondering if things will ever be the same. Is this the beginning of the end for those of us who have thus far enjoyed a free ride? Only time will tell. In the meantime, tell us what you think in the comments below. As always, happy trading, and may the force be with you!
Happy new comic book day everyone! Be sure to let us know what you’ll be picking up this week in the comments below! Here is a look at our top picks:
Convergence #3 – Although Convergence has been wearing off on us (Unlike the Convergence side-stories) This will still be on our list this week. Death comes calling as an injured Telos takes out his rage on the people of Kandor, while the Earth-2 team endures another brutal casualty. And major plans are set in motion as Green Lantern and the others follow Deimos into the lost city of Skartaris to find Rip Hunter and the missing Time Masters, who could be their only hope of escape from this apocalypse for Infinite Earths! This past weekend was filled with all sorts of exciting news and events for ‘Star Wars’ fans, but one announcement was particularly exciting. ‘Rogue One’, the first ever spin-off movie in the ‘Star Wars’ saga, is nearing the first stages of production! However, as the panel at SWCA discussed, this isn’t your typical Star Wars film. Continue reading ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ plot details and trailer revealed!
We put together a list of 10 of the most sought after cards to date on the Star Wars Card Trader app. In creating this list, we looked at two things; ammount of posts searching for a particular card in the app’s forum, and the average sale price of the last 10 completed sales on eBay. A couple of these cards are ones we expect to rise in demand over the next few weeks. If there are any other cards you believe deserve a mention, please let us know in the comments below!
Han Solo Vintage – This is easily the most sought after card since the app launched in early March. Those who were lucky enough to snag one of these in the opening week, probably didn’t realize it would fetch upwards of $140 on eBay only a month later! It seems a little strange that it would sell for such a high price with 1500 produced; but it is the rarest of the Vintage collection, and a popular character to boot. As we mentioned in our Return of the Trading Cards article, if you don’t have one already, be prepared to trade a good chunk of your collection, or pay a small fortune on eBay in order to get your hands on one!
Its Wednesday everybody!! That means its new comic book day!! Here is a list of some of this week’s hottest new issues you should try to get your hands on!
Convergence #2 – (Variant Edition Shown) As Telos, the Planet Incarnate, easily defeats the survivors of Earth 2, Thomas Wayne and Dick Grayson set off to find help in the pre-Flashpoint Gotham City. The emotional implication of these worlds colliding comes crashing down when Thomas Wayne confronts this world’s Batman, as father meets son! Plus, Alan Scott’s attempts to connect with The Green yield unexpected results, setting our team on a quest to escape the planet. And the cyborgs of Futures End engage in a battle to the death against the reimagined heroes of the Just Imagine Universe, while the city of Superman Red and Blue takes on the opposing forces from GENERATIONS!
